Creating a follow-up appointment through phone call/email on a particular date

Hi there !

I was looking to create a follow-up appointment as a phone call/email/visit on a specific date when a lead is created. I have read in the forums that 2 fields can be created like follow-up date and Activity. Is there a standard  CRM way to achieve this?

Any directions would be helpful.

    Can this follow up task be set to email someone at a future date ? ie: follow up on a new lead for January 2017? (We are wanting email reminders for these future appointments if possible)

    Hi Naddu

    Use a workflow to auto create follow up task or another activity like appointment phone call or visit as custom activity once the lead created is the easiest way.

    Hi Naddu,

    If i understand what you want the only standard CRM way to do this is to create a followup activity through workflow on lead creation. Some people create a workflow and stay waiting until certain date, but i don't recommend this, is not a good approach put workflows waiting some something.

    In resume out of the box, what you can do is to create workflow where you create a Task (or some kind of) where you mention that the user need to do a phone call/meeting/email or visit on that date, for example 30 days after the lead is created.
