Hi,
I need to create a task based on a date field 'follow-up'. I can create a workflow to trigger task creation based on follow-up field change. However, I also want to update the task due date if user changes date in follow-up field or update follow-up field if user changes due date at the task level.
How can this be achieved?

Since we are talking about the Task created due to a parent record's change, you'll need to use custom code like a plugin to query the child record and update the field.
Since a potential record may have multiple child records, the OOB functionality doesn't let you find which record to update. For child records, you can find the parent and update but not the other way round.
