MR Currency Translation Stores MORE than 2 Decimals

We are using MR currency translation.  The problem is that this calculated USD amount is stored with a bunch of extra decimal places.  This means that if you add up the displayed values, it may not total the displayed total (due to hidden decimal values).  It also means that a line which is calculated to $0 will often display even though zero lines are supposed to be suppressed and zero values (in a line where other columns do have a number) are supposed to display as blanks - because the system is STORING 0.00000001 or some such number, so it doesn't apply the "0.00" rule to this value.  I am unable to find any solution to this issue.  I know there are AX settings where you can change the number of decimal places you store for GL data - is there a similar setting for MR/currency translation that we need to complete?? Is there a command I can use to TELL it to round to 2 decimals???

    Hi,

Have you tried using the MR rounding feature?

I want them rounded to 2 decimals - there is no option for that except the default (because according to the instruction books, MR/AX ONLY stores data to 2 decimal places, so you shouldn't need an option to round to 2 decimals - but that doesn't seem to apply when using currency translation).

also - that rounding option appears to only affect the number being DISPLAYED, not the number being stored - so I'd still have the same totaling issue (where if you add up the values displayed, they don't equal the total displayed, because of hidden decimal data)

    for example, actual data:

       55.55

    + 55.55

    =111.10

    displayed (rounded) data:

       56

    + 56

    =111

    but if you really add them, 56 + 56 = 112

Hi, another option to get the figures rounded is using the format overwrite [View:https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/Format-Override-in-Management-Reporter-1f4e1e72-655c-408c-8fcb-c36fb585202b]

Yet, this feature is only applied on top to data stored in the MR data mart. To check how many decimal places are really stored in the data mart you can simply browse the data mart tables provided that you have the corresponding user rights. If I am not wrong you are right with your statement but please double check in your data mart to be 100% sure.

    All the best,

so as a real example, my cash flow is showing 72.77 + 4.17 = 76.95

if you add 72.77 + 4.17 it really equals 76.94

if I export to excel and display more decimal places,

it turns out the numbers are REALLY

    72.773144 + 4.174442 = 76.947586

in this example, 72.77 and 4.17 are US dollar values,

which management reporter translated for me from euros

I was told translated values are not stored in the data mart - only the euro values are stored there - and the USD values are actively calculated at the time the report is run

our euro values are working fine (and being both stored AND displayed with only 2 decimals)

is there a data mart setup field I can ask our IT dept to check for the currency translation rounding? that specifies how many decimals it should be rounded to?
