Sub grid in web form is not showing item actions

Hi,

I've created a subgrid in a web form, and customised the web form step metadata to add item and view actions.

Currently Edit/Delete  item actions work correctly but dissociate/delete etc do not show up on the drop down list in the table row.

View actions work correctly.

I have configured entity permissions for the subgrids.

Is there a step i'm missing somewhere or is this a bug with Microsoft CRM portals?

Thanks in advance,

Sam

    Hi Sam,

You can try checking few things.

    1. Entity Permissions of the Entity of the SubGrid and also the Parent Entity.  Have you given Read, Write, Create, Delete, Append, and Append To permissions.

    2. On the Parent Entity Permission, add the SubGrid Entity as a child Entity Permission

    3. Make sure the Web Role is added to the Entity Permission.

    4. Check if the Service account running the Portal has access to the given entitites

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Nadeeja

    Hi Nadeeja,

Thanks for the reply. I have created entity permissions for the subgrids and added web roles to them. They definitely have access to the service account as I can retrieve records.

As for the parent child relationship, could you elaborate? I've attempted to create entity permissions for adx_webform and added the sub grid entity permissions as a child of that but I'm still finding the same issue.

    Many thanks,

    Sam

    Hi Sam,

You can learn more about parent child entity permissions from below link.

    https://community.adxstudio.com/products/adxstudio-portals/documentation/configuration-guide/entity-permissions/parental-scope-example/

I am sure you have seen this but including it here for reference, just in case.

    https://community.adxstudio.com/products/adxstudio-portals/documentation/configuration-guide/entity-form/entity-form-subgrid-configuration/#DeleteAction

I'll try this out as soon as I get a chance.  Will let you know once I have some success.

    Cheers,

    Nadeeja

    Hi Nadeeja,

That worked perfectly, thank you for the example. To get this to work you have to set the parent scope to global, the child scope to parental and enable entity permissions on both the web form step and the entity form.

    Thanks again,

    Sam
