Dear

We are giving our employees items from the stock to use (example TONER) natually we want to transfer them to the "Cost of goods sold"

so we are doing a Movement Journal with QTY -1  but we want the offset account to come automatically for each Item Group but there is no place to define the offset Issue account

Regards

You can define the offset account for a movement journal on the jjournal name setup. In this way, as the user selects the movement journal name the system will default the appropriate offset account when they create journal lines.

    Hi,

if you want both the account and the offset account to be determined by the item group, you might think about choosing the profit / loss journal type instead of the movement journal type.

As Tim states, the offset account of the movement journal is taken from the journal (resp. journal line) - that's what it's designed for.

    Kind regards,

    Annette

Thank you for you input, do i create this in the Inventory Journal Name?

the only type of transaction that i have is "Movement" "Inventory Adjustment" and Transfer

Where do i get this ?

Ah, sorry ... I mean "inventory adjustment". It was previously called profit and loss and I never can remember to use the new term.
