Does everyone need to log out in order for me to close the year in Great Plains as administrator?

Follow the year end documentation (KB888003) that comes with Great Plains. In there one of the things you should be doing is making sure you have enough room on your server so that when Great Plains moves stuff from open to history (GL) that you have enough room. Once ran into a year end where all that was left on the server was 50 mb which would have blown up the server, which is one of the reasons that you would be doing a backup....
It's not a requirement, but a good idea, however you can't be posting anything. And make sure you have a backup from right before. If anything happens during year end close - you have to restore and start over.
