Duplicate Vendor records

I need to clean up my Vendors. I have duplicate Vendors and need to remove transaction history from one Vendor. That is documentation and easy to understand, what I am having trouble finding is how to add the transaction history to the other (remaining) vendor. Can anyone assist with adding transaction history?

This is handled best with the Vendor Combiner feature of GP.  Depending on version this is either part of the product (2013 anyway) or available as an add on from the professional tool suite.

In 2013 it's Tools -> Utilities -> Purchasing -> Vendor Combiner and Modifier

In case you have already detected the duplicated vendors, then you can proceed to use the "vendor combiner" utility to merge vendor transaction and summary records. I have previously analyzed the Process of this utility for the customer (which is the same), here is the link Customer Combiner Utility

If you have not detected the duplicated vendors yet, you might need to consider data cleansing tools such as SQL Data Quality services.

Let us know if you need any further assistance,

Thank you. I am getting that installed in my GP2010 system.

Julie, has this been resolved?  If not do you require more assistance - feel free to reach out and ask.

If you are done with the case, you might mark one of the answers provided as the solution.

    Bill,

I don't understand why this is considered a 'Suggested Answer' to Julie's question. This kind of thing has happened quite a bit lately and I'm curious as to why it was marked.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Leslie, you are correct - I was just running on auto pilot - Julie, can you go back to my comment above and remove the tag for 'answered question'

I was actually just inquiring and clicked the 'suggested answer' button in error.
