CHANGING STATUS OF A SPECIFIC BATCH NO OF ITEM IN BINS NOT TO BE PICKABLE

Is navision 2018 capable of changing the status of specific batch number items in the bins so that Navision is not able to pick the items in the advanced warehouse configuration with directed putaway and pick. for example you have received the goods from supplier and they are on the receipt bay and you post the warehouse receipt and Navision has generated a put away with suggested bins. You move the items in the physical warehouse to the suggested bins. Later you want to change the status of the specific batch in the bins so that navision can not pick these items.

I understand you can block the specific bin for Inbound and Outbound transactions, is there any way to do this apart from blocking the bins.

    Hi

Yes, in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018 with the Advanced Warehouse functionality enabled, you can change the status of a specific batch in a bin so that it is not available for picking.

One way to achieve this is by using the 'Bin Content' page in NAV. You can navigate to this page from the 'Warehouse' menu in the 'Inventory' module. In the 'Bin Content' page, you can locate the bin that contains the items you want to block and select the relevant bin line. You can then click on the 'Edit' button and change the status of the bin content line to 'Blocked for Pick'. This will prevent the items in that batch from being picked.

Another option is to use the 'Item Journal' page to adjust the inventory of the item in question. By adjusting the inventory to a negative quantity for the specific batch, you can effectively block the items from being picked. However, this method requires manual adjustments and could potentially lead to discrepancies in inventory levels.

Blocking the bin or adjusting inventory levels are the most straightforward methods to achieve the desired result, but if you require more advanced functionality, you may want to explore customizing the system using NAV's development environment or working with a NAV developer to implement a custom solution.

Hi, Personally, I prefer to control outside the system.
If you want to control it within the system, as Bilal mentioned, you need to increase user operations or maybe need some customization.

PS: In NAV2018, the Lot No. Information List (6508, List) page does not allow users to open it directly on the UI.

    Hope this helps as well.

    Hi Amos,

If you picked items with specific Lot No (like a batch) then you can block that specific Lot No.

You can go to Item card and then Item Tracking and then open Lot No information and then block that Lot.
