Texting to and from Customers

We are looking for options to integrate a texting/SMS option with CRM 2016 on premise. Ideally for it to act like email, tracking the back and forth of the text interaction.  We use skype for business for our communication - phone/video/chat,  with no DID (10 digit #s) for staff. Does anyone have experience with this?  Any thoughts and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.  If you do and are at Summit, we would love to chat with you!  Thanks!
