Goals by Customer

Posted on by 70

Hello.

I have a problem with Goals. In CRM I have Goals made by Key Account Manager which is good because I can see who is best seller etc.

Now I must add new Golas by Customer (I must see how much we sold by every company we cooperate and made a financial goal for them). I have no idea how to do it while in Goals manager I can only select Users and Groups and I cant get data from any non numerical field from for example oportunity. If I could I would read Customer or End-User field and would be good :).

Do you have any idea how to do it?

Thx a lot for help.

Regards

Paweł

When you create your Goal, towards the bottom of the form there's a tab called "Goal Criteria".

That's where you choose the Rollup query that goes with the goal record.

(at least in Dynamics 365 that's where it is!)

Thats interesting because I have second instance with CRM 2015 version and I would test it. I found how to make rollup field but I have no idea how to get data from this field to goals. Have you any idea about that?

    Hi Pawel,

One thing you could do is to set up an additional goal, still based on the Opportunity revenue, but with a filter on the customer name.

This would be at the expense of having double the admin effort in setting up your goals, but I think it would work out. I haven't tested it, I was just revising for the sales exam and then saw your post :)

Essentially, when you set up your sales goal for each person, add a separate goal that has associated a Rollup Query where the Customer = [that specific account you need].

This is in the module 04 of the course 81056AE: Sales Management in Microsoft Dynamics 365.

    or here, in help: www.microsoft.com/.../create-or-edit-a-goal-rollup-query-sales.aspx

    Hope it helps.

    RE: Goals by Customer

    Hi,

I think the problem is that goals are designed to be for the users, not for the customers.

If you wanted to have some sort of aggregated value on the account level, a rollup field would probably work.. but, if you are on 2013, you might not have rollups there:

If that's the case, then you may need to develop something
