Contract number being removed in Project Maintenance screen

In our Project Maintenance screen (PA.PRJ.00), when a user makes a change to one particular project and saves the change, the Contract number field gets deleted. We had a look at the project set-up and nothing jumped out at us that could cause the issue. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated- thanks!
