Hello,
Can any body explain me the concept of Phantom in laymen and in the context of AX 2012?
Thank You.

If you were making a bike the seat itself is a sub-assembly, but in this scenario it is never something you want to stock, you always want to make it with the bike. So you have a "BOM" for the seat, but you do not want a production order for it, therefore you make it a "phantom" and when the bike is made you get the components to make the seat, but you never have to pre-make the seat prior to the bike being built. Probably confused you more there!
The purpose of the phantom is to make BOM construction easier, they are never stocked but it means a "set" of components can be added to a BOM as one line and when the production order is made this "one" item is exploded to show all of the components.
