Just looking for an understanding around the monthly LCS updates.
We applied the update to our Dynamics F&O environment, moving it from 10.0.30 to 10.0.31. This was completed about a month ago and what happened yesterday was an automatic update to the same platform version but saw that the application version had changed.
Just trying to get an understanding of it and how it works. Is it you can update to a platform version and then there are monthly updates for that platform version until either update/forced to move onto next platform version

Basically, Microsoft wants to force patches to all D365 customers, this way you can have a uniform base among customers. For each monthly upgrade, you have a new incremental version.
