How do I fix the error message "This source document is invalid; please select another"?

This is the error message printed on the General Posting Journal after posting a Canadian Payroll Batch in a company that is new to GP.

GO to Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >> Tools >> Setup >> Source Documents. Then add a Source Document called CPY and put in a description of Canadian Payroll.

This may be the answer but I do not have source documents in my list to select. I will contact our internal IT Department and go from there. Thank you.
