Update Roll Up 11 with IFD / on-premise cause Could not find GUID for server error

When I applied Roll Up 11, I have started to get errors as below. Initialy the error was solved by opening up port 3268, but then this morning the error came back and the only way I have been able to get rid of it is to uninstall Roll Up 11. I was previously on Roll Up 8.

Anyone got any ideas - is this a bug in UR11?

    Hi Andrew.

Please check if the Update Rollup 11 version 2 was installed and also please check whether all the required ports are properly open based on the document below, including the ones from page 10:

Update Rollup 11 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 (KB 2739504)

    Hi Rodrigo,

I checked the ports and then re-installed Roll Up 11. The problem came back straight away. I switched on monitoring of blocked ports on the firewall but nothing was reported. I then switched off the firewall completely and restarted IIS - again the same issue. So I then tried signing in using the internal URL (https://server:5555/organisation) and this did work - so the problem seem to purely to do with using the Internet Facing URL (https://organisation.server.com:5555).

When using the URL the crash occurs immediately (i.e. I do not get redirected to the ADFS server to enter my credentials I just get an error message in Internet Explorer and the above error is logged in the event viewer.)

Just to make absolutly sure it is not the firewall I switched off the firewall on both my CRM server and my ADFS server and that made no difference either.

Uninstalling Roll Up 11 sorts the problem.

Do you have any other ideas?

    Hi Andrew.

Thanks for your response. This behavior needs further analysis, so a support case would be best suitable for this problem. Please open a new case with your local Microsoft support center.

We are having the same issue. Upon installing UR 11 v2, I immediately get the above error when trying to login to CRM through IFD.  Uninstalling UR 11 v2 fixes the problem.

This has been logged with Microsoft and they have confirmed this is an Issue that needs a hot fix in the following situation:

    • CRM is configured to user ADFS over claims and  IFD is being used.

    • The CRM app-pool is running on Network service

    • The CRM is not an RTM but installed using UR6 slipstream- meaning the UR6 was installed by default when you installed CRM

Thanks Andrew, that is my exact scenario.  Is the hotfix already available or are they working on it?

    Still working on it

Can you share your support case number?  I'd like to report the same issue and make sure we're making a stronger case for the same issue.

Hi, I have an SR number of 112110753785656 - does that help?

Yes, that is what I was looking for.  I just wanted to make sure I'm referencing the existing case (since I can see one is out there) so it will hopefully become higher priority for MS.  Thanks.
