GP 2015 AA Distribution Query Error

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

I am facing this error while running AA Distribution Query. We are in GP 2015. Following is the error message:

Full error text as follows:

--

Unhandled object exception: EXCEPTION_CLASS_OBJECT_EXCEPTION ExceptionSubClass:-2147024891

Unhandled object exception:Operation is not allowed when the object is closed. EXCEPTION_CLASS_OBJECT_EXCEPTIONExceptionSubClass:-2146824584

--

Excel is already installed and version being Excel 2013. I also believe this issue happens from GP2013 R2. We do not have any blog post on this issue, no forum solutions suggested (except installing Excel).

If anyone has faced it and have a solution already, please do share it.

Thanks

Vaidy

    1. Check in other machines which is having the same configuration

    2. Re-install GP and try running the report

    Hi Prakash,

Thanks for the reply. Yes this is happening on all machines. Production server, test server, my laptop.

Also worth to note, it fails on query definitions that we upgraded from GP2013 and also on new definitions.

After more hours of troubleshooting, I still have not found solution/workaround. I did everything: uninstalled Office, installed it back, uninstalled GP, installed it back, ensured Office is 32 bit and so on.

I am afraid we are seeing a repeat of this error that happened in GP 9.0/8.0. According to the following KB article, it is suggested to apply latest service pack for versions 9.0 and 8.0.

Oh boy, I must raise another support request and report this bug.

Any updates from anyone on this issue? I have tried my best to spot this and fix, but it's still deceiving.

I'd probably wait for someone to shed some light. If not, I am planning to open a support case with Microsoft.

I appreciate any inputs on this.

    Hi Vaidhy,

This reminds me of an old issue which used to exist in GP 8/9.

    Hello,

I have the same error under GP2010. I think it has something to do with Excel version. Not sure yet, but if I find the solution will post it here.
