GP 2015 AA Distribution Query Error

I am facing this error while running AA Distribution Query. We are in GP 2015. Following is the error message:

Full error text as follows:

--

Unhandled object exception: EXCEPTION_CLASS_OBJECT_EXCEPTION ExceptionSubClass:-2147024891

Unhandled object exception:Operation is not allowed when the object is closed. EXCEPTION_CLASS_OBJECT_EXCEPTIONExceptionSubClass:-2146824584

--

Excel is already installed and version being Excel 2013. I also believe this issue happens from GP2013 R2. We do not have any blog post on this issue, no forum solutions suggested (except installing Excel).

If anyone has faced it and have a solution already, please do share it.

Thanks

Vaidy

I am also having the same issue in GP 2015 R2 web client, but not in the desktop client. Can any one confirm that this is a feature issue in GP 2015 R2 web client.

RE: GP 2015 AA Distribution Query Error

I have been struggling with this issue for a while, with the same dead end. It occurred in GP GP 2015 RTM (14.00.0524) and March Hotfix (14.00.0061)

The "sa" user encounters no issues at all, while it occurs for any other user. Here are the error messages:

    6378.2.png

    "Unhandled object exception:
[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'xxx'.

    EXCEPTION_CLASS_OBJECT_EXCEPTION
    ExceptionSubClass:-2147217843

    "

    6378.2.png

    "Unhandled object exception:
Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.

    EXCEPTION_CLASS_OBJECT_EXCEPTION
    ExceptionSubClass:-2146824584

    "

I have tried every single possible suggestion to get this resolved, following up on sql profiler, dex sql log ..etc, even running the Grant.sql script but all in vain. This could definitely be related to the authentication method considered by Dynamics GP when building the distribution query on the run time.

    Currently, the plan is to upgrade to the most recent release GP 2015 R2 and check whether any resolution has been made. Meanwhile, I appreciate any feedback from Microsoft support engineer;

Derek Albaugh  I would appreciate your feedback on this case as it seems a complicated case which requires your high and sharp attention.

Looking forward to hearing from you

RE: GP 2015 AA Distribution Query Error

    Hello Vaidy,

My colleague "Mahmoud M. Al Saadi" been through this case few days back and I guess the customer is running the March hotfix, they still have the issue.

@Mahmoud, did you get this resolved?

RE: GP 2015 AA Distribution Query Error

    Hi Vaidy

I also encountered the same error running AA Distribution Query or Multilevel Query and have applied Mar’15 Hot Fix.  I also did the AA checklinks - as mentioned above.

However, I have different error message now.

The new error message now “Unhandled object exception: [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Login failed for user ‘xxx’” and at the end of the query another error message “Unhandled object exception:

The connection cannot be used to perform this operation. It is either closed or invalid in this context” - displayed.

If I login as ‘sa’ to run the Multilevel query in GP2015, everything is fine.  Any non-sa users, power users cannot execute the command.

Can I ask about the config you have?

Have 2 different setups to test:

    Windows server 2008 R2, SP1.  MSSQL 2012 SP3, GP2015 with March hotfix.

Other scenario, Windows 7 Professional, MSSQL 2012 SP3, GP2015 with March hotfix

    Both have the same issue.

Can I seek your advice?  Many, many thanks in advance.

RE: GP 2015 AA Distribution Query Error

UPDATE: After applying Mar'15 Hot Fix, this issue seems to have gone away. I can confirm that it's working, but takes more time than it used to on previous versions. But, it does work now.

RE: GP 2015 AA Distribution Query Error

I believe this earlier post points back at the Excel issue.

    community.dynamics.com/.../147898.aspx

I seem to remember a related post, where the Excel integration from SmartList wasn't working.  Turns out Excel was not associated with Excel file formats, and making this association fixed the problem.

RE: GP 2015 AA Distribution Query Error

    Hello,

I have the same error under GP2010. I think it has something to do with Excel version. Not sure yet, but if I find the solution will post it here.
