I inherited a GP database and all GP users had sysadmin permissions on the SQL Server, after research and talking with our developers there was no reason known to keep this level of access. sysadmin permissions were therefore removed leaving user accounts with the default SQL Server GP permissions and membership to the DYNGRP role.
It has just been found that we have Field Level Security enabled and the removal of the sysadmin permission on the SQL server has caused issues, and field level Security no longer works.
Can anyone advise on permission required for Field Level Security to function correctly? Surely all users do not require 'god' permissions, i suspect our developers are not telling use the whole story and would like unbiased input.
Cheers,
Dave
