CRM on Office 365 - have Dynamics GP on premise

We purchased a new subscription of CRM Professional (as add on to our E3). So far I have assigned a license to myself to understand just a little and then distribute. . The connection with GP on premise is also part of the plan.

The question I have is, what are the next main steps I have to take, so people can use it, including with outlook.

Is there any step by step KB, where after subscription, I (as Office 365 and network administrator) can follow those steps to get started?

Any help will be appreciated. (FYI we are engaging with a company who will come and train the end users/functional-side, but my task is the initial back-end i.e. on Office 365 portal and client machine/outlook etc. setup.)

Thanks

Ashok

    Hi Ashok,

There are a number of great articles / step-by-step instructions for getting users up to speed with Dynamics CRM 2015!

Some resources for you that you should be able to find whatever you are looking for:

    1. http://crmbook.powerobjects.com/ - Great online book from Power Objects for CRM!
    2. eBooks and videos - https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/dynamics/crm-customer-center/ebooks-and-videos.aspx
    3. http://www.microsoftvirtualacademy.com/
There are plenty of other guides / step-by-step instructions you will find with simple Google / Bing searches as well.  Specific example for setting up Outlook integration (video from Microsoft):  https://youtu.be/4lAUXAiLId4
On the integration side to Dynamics GP I would suggest checking out ScribeSoft and eOne SmartConnect.  We have had success with both where Scribe is more of a polymorphic connector to a number of systems and SmartConnect is really dedicated to integrating GP and Dynamics CRM and has a wonderful set of features / functionality specific to these two systems.
    Good luck Ashok!
    Thanks,
