Force Items to Inventory vs. Non-Inventory When Existing On Ledger Lines

I've successfully updated the majority of my items in BC to be inventory with the zero inventory toggle on. However, there is a handful of items that exist on POs or Project Planning Lines that won't allow me to update them. Is there a way to "force" the attributes of these items even while attached to projects/POs within BC?

Best way out is to either rename the item and create a new one with the type you wants.
Later on you can Block the old one.

    Hi,

It is not recommended to change Type of item from Non inventory to Inventory if posted entries exist. Block this item and create new one

Ideally there would be no existing inventory or document lines with the items you are changing. You can use a configuration package and turn off validation.

I would suggest block the item and create new one as just changing to zero would also have issues with inventory valuation.

    Thanks

Although it is not recommended, you can try the following method

    Hello,

When you already have transactions and journal entries, it would not be recommended to change the item type from Inventory to Non-inventory.

I recommend blocking the item and creating a new one.

    I hope you can help.

    Regards,

    Andrés
