Is there a way to tell which user has a specific table locked down when they are posting something?

Hi,
You can see locks in SQL using SP_WHO2.
More info on this blog post sjakalax.blogspot.be/.../how-to-detect-cause-of-deadlock.html
Use SQL Server management studio. On the database right click and choose reports\all blocking transactions. This will give you a report telling you who is blocking and who's sessions it is blocking. Only downside is that it only gives you SPID's. With SP_Who will give you user names of the ones logging into SQL (So for AX that will always be the service account of the AOS service).
a dirty trick I use and branded 'Peep system': use the command KILL <SPID> to kill the session of the headblocker. Now wait till one of the users peeps by you to tell you he got a strange SQL error.... I know I'm just evil.
You are also able to find out the AX user:
In the Activity monitor you'll see the Head Blocker, and the Host name.
Remember the SPID and Log into AX to the AOS running on that host.
Go to Administration-> Online users
Youll find there the SPID as well and can track the AX user
