Add to Calendar button not woring in Real-time Marketing Emails for Real-time Events

There is a Feature Switch in Dynamics 365 Marketing called 'Enable events creation in real-time marketing'.
If you create an event in this way and then use the Journey and Trigger options in Real-time Marketing to send an event registration confirmation email, the 'Add to Calendar' button on the email will not work.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Partner,

I followed the following steps to try to reproduce your problem:
1.I designed an email with two buttons attached, both using the same event.
2.Click on each of the two buttons when I receive the email.
1)Clicking on the "Add to Calendar Button", the browser would automatically download the file,
open the file outlook automatically created a draft of the appointment for me:
2)Click on the Event button and I'll be automatically redirected to the event page:

Apparently everything is fine, if you have any other steps please elaborate.
In fact, there is no official documentation on this feature, and in my testing it didn't have any effect if I didn't enable the 'Enable events creation in real-time marketing' feature,
So if turning on this feature affects your usage it is recommended that you turn it off.

    Best Regards,
    Haig Liu

    Hello Haig Liu,

Based on your screenshots you didn't create a Real-time Event.   You need to create a Real-time Event and then register to the event using the standalone registration form it produced, not the Event website.

Can you please see if you can recreate the problem as described using the Real-time Event form?

    Thank,

    Hi,

I redid the test with the following procedure:
    1.Create a real-time event
2.Create an email using template and add three "Add to Calendar" buttons with different options
    3.Designing a simple journey
4.Testing the emails received after registering for the event:
1)"Only the event" button is not working, clicking on it does not respond. It's just as you described.
2)The "Events and sessions registered" button works fine, clicking on it will download a file, opening it will automatically create a draft appointment.
3)"Only sessions registered" button will open an expiration page
There is nothing in the documentation about this situation:
But this behavior is clearly not reasonable enough, so I suggest you raise a support ticket to react to Microsoft on this issue.

    Best Regards,
    Haig Liu
