Missing GL Accounts in MR 2012 after using PSTL

Posted on by 75,730

We re-arranged a few accounts in the GL using PSTL. I am running the P/L and we have a few accounts that are now missing from the report. Oddly enough, the accounts that are missing are ones that were NOT changed. I have refreshed the cache, I can pick these accounts from the list and I even tried creating new rows and selecting the accounts and they will not appear on the report. What else can I check? It appears to be something tied to these accounts. I also ran GL reconcile. Would check links be the next thing to try. If so, I will wait until everyone leaves and perform a backup first.

Thanks Keith, as I was driving today the idea of the datamart hit me. I will be on site on Saturday and will give this a shot.

    Hi Richard,

Note that after the PSTL account modifier has been run on your GP databases, you will be required to rebuild the Management Reporter data mart database.

You will not be prompted for doing this, but the reason for this is that the transaction information in the data mart will be tied to the old combination of dimensions (account segments) and you will notice incorrect balances in reports after the change.

This is not a standard operation in the Dynamics GP client so the data mart has not been designed to pick up this type of modification; however, rebuilding the data mart will correct this problem.

You can rebuild the data mart with the following steps:

    a. Open the Management Reporter Configuration Console.

    b.  Click on the GP integration under ERP integrations

    c. Click Disable Integration

    d.  Click Remove in the upper-right corner to get rid of the integration

    e. Exit the Configuration Console

    f. Open SQL Server Management Studio

    g. Backup the DDM database

    h. Delete the DDM database

    i. Open the Configuration Console

    j. Go to File | Configure

    k. Choose "Add Microsoft Dynamics GP Data Mart"

    l. Follow the steps for the Dynamics GP provider at:

Microsoft Management Reporter: Installation, Migration, and Configuration Guides

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    m. When finished, be sure to click the "Enable Integration" button in the Configuration Console
