We have 9 stores running RMS through HQ and the database is getting enormous.
We log in aprox. 200 new items every week and now our database is over 34,000 items.
Many of these items will never be carried/sold through us again so I'd like to REMOVE them, DELETE them. Not just turning them into INACTIVE (I've got another 5,000 inactive now) - but removing them from HQ and the stores to get our database size under some control.
Is this possible through HQ?

An item table with 34 thousand items is not necessarily "enormous" for RMS - only consider deleting records and/or shrinking the database if you have performance issues, or say your db engine is SQL express and you're nearing the 4 gig limit.
If the stores are not having any speed issues doing sales transfers and purchase orders, you may not need to delete any items. Deleting item records may not address your need toget the db size under control, as it is probably not the biggest table in terms of size.
John,
Removing Items from HQ or SO is never recommended as you loose your ability to report on them. I am assuming you are aware of this though. The only way to do this via HQ is to run a Worksheet 51 with a proper SQL statement to remove the items you wish to delete. Please be careful with doing this as a mistake could end up taking out a lot of item you didn't mean to.
