Time Sheet View Only Access

Good afternoon,

In Business Central is it possible to have access set up for view only for timesheets and no visibility to any other portion of business central?  Our HR team needs access to time sheets for all employees (not just employees reporting to them) but they only need view only access.

Thank you

Tammy

Team member license and permissions will cover most of it. Posted time sheets won’t be an issue. Open will be tricky as the pages are controlled by code for filtering. Might be you need a custom page or query created to display the open timesheets. Reporting is lacking in this area of the system

I have a similar requirement; I posted the solution here: Time Sheet-only role and access in Business Central - ER-Consult You need an own role, and a permission set.

Other responses are correct. What i've done in the past is assign timesheer users a Team Member license. Then I created a permission set that blocks everything but timesheets. I also created a Profile/Role that was locked down and just displayed time sheets. You could give access to all employees timesheets that way. You could also give HR specific access to individual GL accounts or other data using things such as security filters. See more here: Using Security Filters - Business Central | Microsoft Learn

    Hi, hope the following helps.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to make some filters mandatory on the list page (users can not change or remove)
Dynamics 365 Business Central: Permission Exclusion (Exclude in Permission Set)

    Thanks.

    Hello Tammy,
Yes, but it usually needs a custom read-only permission set just for the time sheet pages/tables; standard roles normally give more access than you want. Business Central supports Read access without edit rights, and Microsoft also notes you can set one or more users as time sheet administrator/approver for all time sheets, but if HR must see all employees’ time sheets and nothing else, the practical setup is to copy/build a permission set limited to the required time sheet objects and test it with Effective Permissions, because those pages often rely on a few related tables behind the scenes.
    Regards,
