Hello everyone,
Today we released Guides 7.1! In addition to bug fixes, we added a new MR App Session table that tracks when a user logs in to a guide and when they resume operating a guide. Organizations can use this data to determine how often Dynamics 365 Guides is being used. For more information, see What's new in Dynamics 365 Guides - Dynamics 365 Mixed Reality | Microsoft Docs.
There are two important considerations for admins:
- The client apps are no longer compatible with 600.* versions of the solution. You must be on at least solution version 700.0.0.1 (released last November) even if you chose not to upgrade to the latest solution today. If you need to update your solution, see Update the Dynamics 365 Guides solution - Dynamics 365 Mixed Reality | Microsoft Docs. Remember you must have system admin rights to perform an update.
- If you created custom security roles based on the four built-in roles, you must update your custom roles to enable access to the new MR App Session table. Log into the Power Platform Admin Center to review permissions and apply equivalent changes to your custom roles. No other built-in role changes have occurred, so you just need to update your roles for the MR App Session table.
