Field Level Security on a form in AX 2012 R3

This question may have been answered somewhere else so I apologize for a repeat.

Anyway, I have a custom form that has certain fields that need to be editable by a user with the security role that gives them that ability.

Basically they can use and view the form like any other user, but would be given an additional role that allows them to edit certain fields.

I've seen some posts about allowing users to do this with tables, but I haven't been able to get it to work on a form. Any ideas?

Hi Andy,

There are several ways to achieve.One way is to set the property "Needed permission" on the form control to Yes and add the form under the desired security privilege (Path: \Security\Privileges\<Security-privilege name>\Permissions\Forms). Then right click and select option Add control and include the form control by providing the required effective access(property).

You need to put the form in a privilege! Create a privilege to each permission that you want give to a role!

Open any privilege that exists in AOT, you will see a node called forms! Inside the node of the form that you put, you can specifie controls and the permission level to it
