Hi:

When trying to access "General Journals", an error message appears saying "The Gen. Journal Batch Table is empty".

How do we get rid of this error?

Thanks!

John

Check if you have a 'DEFAULT' batch:

    1. Search for 'General Journal Templates'
    2. Select/highlight the 'GENERAL' template
    3. Click 'Related' on the menu bar and then select 'Template' -> 'Batches'
    4. You should have at least a batch here called 'DEFAULT'

    Hi,

    Please try below step.

    1. Create a Configuration Package card and set table ID 80 and 232. Check No. of Database Records column on Table ID 232 line. It is probably 0.

    2. Click the number of Database Records column on Table ID 232, then open below list page. A Default record is probably generated as follows. Click Back button on left top corner.

    3. Click F5 on config. package card page, then No. of Database Record will be refreshed. It might be not zero (maybe 9).

    4. Open General Journal page and check if error still occurs.

    I hope this helps you.

    Additional Explanation.

Usually, general journal batches are automatically created when the company is created and the general journal batch page is first opened.  General journal batches will be created based on General Journal Template.

"The Gen. Journal Batch Table is empty." error message means that the batch and template were deleted for some reason.

My procedure shown above kicks off the auto-generation process by opening the general journal batch page from the configuration package.

Hi, Search for General Journal Template. Here you need to setup a Template GENERAL. Remember to setup No. Series for this Template. Then you will need to choose Batch on this page and setup a Default batch.
If you need a sample, you can look at Demo company.
