I am currently unable to upgrade my CRM Outlook client.
The first Outlook client I installed was CRM 2011, and I upgraded my client with our CRM upgrades. The first time I noticed an issue was when upgrading my Outlook Client to 2015 (I am running CRM 2016 now).
When trying to upgrade the CRM Outlook Client, I get the following error:
---
Your version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook isn’t supported for upgrading to CRM 2015 for Outlook. You must first upgrade CRM for Outlook to a version that is supported for upgrading to CRM 2015 for Outlook.
---
The same error would apply when trying to install the CRM 2016 client, but with the different version in the error.
I tried uninstalling the CRM Outlook Client through Programs and Features, but I received the same error, and I couldn't find a way to use the wizard to uninstall the Outlook Client.
After that, I tried manually uninstalling the Outlook client using the steps outlined here: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/emeadcrmsupport/2014/02/06/step-by-step-to-uninstall-the-dynamics-crm-outlook-client-successfully/
The only steps I skipped were the ones to delete the SQL folders, since I use SQL for other apps, and I never used or setup the Outlook Client for offline capability.
After the manual uninstall, and a reboot, I am continuing to see the same error when trying to install the Outlook Client.
Is anyone able to tell me what the install could possibly be looking at to determine that there was ever a previous Outlook Client installed? I'd like to get past this error.
Thanks!

I have the same question (0)I was able to successfully uninstall the last remaining bits of CRM 2011 off of my system with MS Fixit (support.microsoft.com/.../program_install_and_uninstall).
