CRM SDK client-side scripting - missing functions (?)

Hello Experts,

In the Dynamics CRM blogosphere we may find a lot of information about xrm.page.data.getIsValid() and xrm.page.data.setFormDirty() functions (for example here: http://shanewcunningham.blogspot.com/2014/04/crm-2013-javascript-special-functions.html ). According to the information I've found these 2 functions has been introduced in CRM 2013. However I cannot find any information about them in the CRM SDK (2013 (!), 2015 and 2016).

So I'm little concern about using them in our CRM code. Are they supported way of extending CRM? Maybe they were deprecated in the past?

Best regards.
