Microsoft Dynamics RMS (Archived)

How can I verify whether RMS licence keys are original and have not been used on another computer already?

It has been brought to my attention that some software re-sellers could be selling pirated RMS Dynamics software and claiming that licence keys are original. How do I know what I have bought(and paid for) is not being used on someone else's computer as well?

Who brought this to your attention? It sounds like they have some good intel, they might know. Look, it's not your job to fix Microsoft's licensing problems. I feel as though there's some ulterior motive to your question.

The only company that can verify a this type of license is Microsoft.  They should be able to validate the license.  But if your license is not legit then they might also make you pay for the software again,  Microsoft has taken this position on their consumer products like windows.

Ulterior motive? I simply don't want some lousy Microsoft Partner charging me $700 for pirated licences! Perhaps you don't want Microsoft to catch on to your little schemes...whistle blowers are always frowned upon...

I would be very suspicous of anyone selling RMS at $700 unless you are buying multiple lanes,

you can find RMS anywhere from $850 and up but they dont mention that you also will be required to pay $214.20(typically unless you buy multiple laneslanes) per sales lane charged by microsoft for support and updates yearly.

You cannot be 100% sure. If you really suspect the reseller, why do business with them?

When you purchase the product, there are some blue 5" x 5" cards that contain a yellow sticker with the product keys.  Make sure it a sticker.

But as of a month or so ago, MDR no longer ships cards, everything is on VOICE, registered to your CustomerSource account.  Really makes it tougher to sell a second time.

    Hello Peter,

    Thank you for your question.

If you suspect that your Product Identification (PID) number may be fraudulent and not unique to your company, I encourage you to visit Microsoft's Protect Yourself from Piracy website, located here:

    www.microsoft.com/piracy

Here you can find out how to tell if your Microsoft product is genuine, and how to report piracy if you find out that you are a victim.

    Thank you,

    Scott Wardzinski
