Is it possible to change Sales Shipment Date, by changing Purchase Delivery Date using MPS/MRP ?

I have a sales order from a customer for a manufactured item to be delivered in 3 weeks.
I have run MPS/MPR and the system have suggested the corresponding Production and Purchase Orders to be created.
I have accepted the action messages from the planning worksheet and the orders have been created.
One of the component items that must be purchased, it will take 15 days to be delivered.(Lead Time Calculation 15D).

10 days go by and the vendor informs me that it will take extra 10 days for the item to be delivered.

What should i do now in order to update the purchase line with the new expected delivery date, without losing the order tracking and ideally update all the
corresponding production orders and finally the Sales Order with the new Shipment Date ?

I have the same question (0)

RE: Is it possible to change Sales Shipment Date, by changing Purchase Delivery Date using MPS/MRP ?

    Greetings,

Thank you for posting on the Microsoft Dynamics BC and NAV Community Forum.

My expectation is that this will need to be managed manually because planning is not going to automatically update the Sales Order Shipment Date.  With Order Promising and Capable to Promise (CTP) on the initiation of the Sales Order, such updates to the Planned Shipment Date can be completed through the Calculate first availabe date using the CTP calculation.  However, once the planned orders have been generated and started, the change will not be possible. It will not automatically update through the planning process to the inital Sales Order. The changes will require manual management of the linked orders where the customer will need to be informed of the change in date due to Vendor delays. That is my first instinct, anyways.

One thing I would like to confirm - Has the Released Production Order already been started? - For example, has consumption of other materials already been posted and capacity already been recorded against the originally generated Released Production Order?   The reason is that Planning Flexibilty will automatically be set to None on an already partially processed Production Order, so no changes will be allowed.  If Planning is run again, a suggestion for a new Production Order would be established in an attempt to meet the demand, where a breaking of existing Order Tracking would be completed.

These are my initial thoughts without having full details.

    Best Regards,

    Tom

Greetings and thank you for your response.

I was afraid that the answer would be "manually update the sales order", nevertheless i thought i could give a try asking someone else.

About your question, no the Released Production Orders has not been started, because we are waiting for this component to arrive.
