When was that lot put into that bin?

Hi again!

To all you gourous out there, here is a good one for you: We are using multibin functionnality in GP10 and we also use lot tracked items. We are now trying to find a way to show wharehouse staff at what moment a certain lot was transfered into a certain bin, is this possible?

Since we have a WMS, most of these transactions can be located and built into a smartlist. The problem is that sometimes the lots are transfered using the GP Bin Transfer window which doesn't seem to keep a trace of that transaction.

Ultimately, our goal is to show wharehouse supervisors how long lots have been hanging arround in a transition bin from one wharehouse location to another. Because in the end nothing should stand in that bin more that 48 hours...

Thanks,
Jason Chung

It will get installed automatically and create the table i.oe IV10099 Hitory table for IV10004 and you are in peaceland. Where and how you want me to send the file ?

Very interesting and very interested! If you still have that file i would gladly take a copy. How do I use it? Simply dump it in my GP folder and then what? I guess there is an option in administration>Utilities or something like that?

    Thanks

    Jason

I had this situation, too. So I  posted the issue here and got offended by few people very badly. Then I had a long time arugment with Microsfot while then gentleman name Patrick (  MVP) mentioned that MBS has a utility to to create a History table for IV10004 which is just a dump/temp table.

Since that day my life is easy as I have all the tracking of BIN to BIN TRX. I still have that cnk file, if you want I can send it to you, while I am also interested in the solution what you are looking for.

I know.. I thought that was it, but the IV10004 is only a dump and fetch table while GP actually Bin transfers the item. After the transaction, nothing is left in there...

So then I guess I could have a trigger write to a custom table this information and link it to a smartlist with date and time stamp...

I'll try this for now. If there is an easier way, please feel free to share! :)

    Thanks,

    Jason

IV1004 contains records of bin to bin transfers

I haven't found a way to use the IV30300 - IV30302 - IV30400 to track Bin transfers. I've found all sorts of transactions related to those tables but nothing that would write when Bin transferring.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Jason

    Hey guys,

Great idea Mr.Whaley! Thanks Mariano for the tables point-outs. I'll be building some SQL off of those and create a Smartlist based on that.

Once again, you guys are the best of the best. Thanks,
    Jason Chung

Why not use the tables Mariano suggested and create a business alert that sends an email to the supervisors when an item has been in the transfer bin too long.

Re: When was that lot put into that bin?

I assume you have to take into account the last receipt date of an item into a bin, up to the date it got transferred out. It is possible by looking at a combination of IV30300 - Item Transaction History, IV30302 - Inventory Transactions Bin Quantity History, and IV30400 - Item Serial and Lot Number History.
