Setting dynamic date on recurring batch job

(0) ShareShare

Hi all,

I want to create a recurring batch job, for example daily calculation of currency revaluation. However, I want to set the "date of rate" to be dynamic, so the batch would run with "date of rate" = current day - 1 day. Is this possible within the user interface (without extending the code)?

thanks,

Viktor

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Viktor,

Don't think you can populate dynamics filter in the field you highlighted. Instead try to do it in Filter screen under Records to include.

For yesterday filter use (Day(-1)) From this post: docs.microsoft.com/.../advanced-filtering-query-options

Thank you Oleksiy, I actually tried that one too but there is nothing I can on that form either:

I can work only with Main Accounts table but it is not sufficient for my issue.

Any ideas how I might change anything here?

    Thanks,

    Viktor

    Hi Viktor,

I see your point now. Unfortunately I don't think there is OOB way to apply dynamic dates for this report. May need to create a customization.

    Hi Viktor,

To achieve your requirement, it would be a customization. There is no configuration via the user interface. What is the reason that you want to run this job daily? Do you have daily reporting requirements?

    Thanks guys,

I guess we will have to extend it,

The reason why I need this job to run daily is simple - the business side wants to run currency revaluation on a daily basis

    Best regards,

    Viktor

    Hi Viktor,

Is it easy said by the business to run it daily. But then again, what is the added value for them? I do suppose, you didn't ask them yet. If they run it daily, but only needs the result in a monthly report, then a lot of transactions are created which do not have any value; only the last recalculation of the month. It would be recommended to verify why they want to have it daily.

@Viktor Kralevski Did you ever solve this problem?

For what it's worth, this is a standard capability that I would expect MS to build in their batch job scheduler. It is crazy that it does not seem to exist.

As far as I remember it was customized at the end. And related to the previous question, they had some stricter financial reports and it was necessary to provide the FX report on daily basis.

    Hi,

Hope you understood that,  Customization is required to make dynamic date range  based on extension concept.

Otherwise, you can customize one batch job to pass the parameters dynamically to execute Foreign Currency Revaluation on daily basis.

    Thanks,

In our case, we want to do a statement run for a group of customers on a specific day of each month as a recurring job. For statements, that sets the date range and the date from which the 30, 60, 90, 90+ ageing is calculated.
