I keep running into this error for one of my part numbers and have no idea where or whats going wrong for this to occur. Any ideas as to where I can look to narrow this error down?

This error only appears when trying to "End" a Production order. "Please see the attached screenshot"

Thanks in advance!

We had this same issue and found that one of the BOM item transactions was set to 'Sold' while all others were 'Deducted'

We reset the production order to Created status and reprocessed.

All BOM transactions were reversed except for the closed transaction and when we re-processed that item was consumed again.

The root cause is "Rounding (Decimal) Accuracy" on Stock Unit. If decimal is zero, system rounds numbers  below zero to zero. Increase the value of "Decimal" on Units form.

    Thank you for your advice.

In my case, when I do on Test, I already change the Active cost of FG to equal to Calculated cost in Production order, then I can did End this PO.

But when I did the same steps in Live, I still got above error message. Then, I checked and found that the WH man already released this quantity of Production to Sales order (we are using WMS). Technical is helping me to debug this

I create another Production order for this FG and Ended without error, the Cost calculation is lower than Cost of above error PO

If you use allow physical the cost will not be adjusted as part of the inventory close UNTIL your stock is positive, so you need to bring the stock above zero, run the close and then end production.

    Hi All,

After some serious testing on many different levels and looking into all the possibilities that the AX Community has laid out for me I was able to fix this error when it popped up on us again today when trying to END a production job!

This issue seems to be very sporadic in nature because sometimes the error is thrown and sometimes it isn't even when repeating the same behavior with other production jobs.

Now to explain how we are creating the issue and how to go about fixing it if your working in this same manner.

    1. Job is created for a specific quantity and that quantity gets changed for the production order.
    2. We will edit the BOM (Bill of Materials) to match the change in the overall production quantity so costing is correct.

However; ***Making these changes to the BOM at this point in the work flow causes this error for us***

To fix this error it helps to know what changes you have made to BOM and set them back to the original status and estimate the job again. ( I believe this error is caused because active cost being generated for the product/item is lower than the total cost of the raw material ) Correct me if I'm wrong!!

After doing this the job ENDS without issue.

Hope this helps some of you!

Hello, I got same error when trying to end Production order.

We are using "standard cost" and allow physical negative inventory.

Have you found the solution for this issue? Please share with me

    Hi Dagiele,

Without details and being able to investigate in your transactions it is impossible to tell you what is wrong and what needs to be done. I would suggest to find a very experienced consultant who knows how to troubleshoot inventory costing issues at your location.

    Yes.

Financial stocks of finished product and raw material are positive.

This makes it difficult to find the root cause of the error.

But you still get this issue?

    Hello,

We don't work with negative stock

    Thanks
