How to find Unused Number Sequences when jumps some Number Sequences?

Hi All;
We have issue with some GL journal in Number Sequences , the Number Sequences jumper some numbers , the journal setting for generate Number Sequences at posting ,when I check the Voucher I didn't find it.
Now My question how to find Number Sequences jumped ,or where used?

AFAIK, there is no OOB way to know the skipped numbers. OOB way is, manually going through the sequence. If you need this capability, you have to write code

Hi Khalid,

Can you explain more about the setup and where you have searched for "the Voucher"? I don't understand your question completely.

Dear My questions way number Sequences skip some numbers?

Example : our voucher when posting take number 10 next one -some time -take number 12 where Sequence number 11, why skipped.

By any way when I check the number Sequences I found in status list with Active status and Freed action.

Now how can I use this skipped numbers and how to know the reasons?

I hope it is clear.

Hi Khalid,

Thanks for the clarification. I cannot provide the reason why it skipped. You have not clearly specified where this number sequence is used. It can be caused by e.g. having another journal where the number was used and probably later deleted. Also an error in customizations can cause this behavior.

To re-use the numbers, you can delete the numbers in the status list.

This number sequence is using In Vendor payment journal.

Hi Khalid,

When using the option to get the numbers at time of posting I have never seen issues other than customizations or import of data into the journals.

Can you verify if this number sequence is the same sequence used for Temporary vouchers in the GL parameters?

There is no any customize for Number Sequences ,also no import of data into the journals, For Gl parameter see Screen shot.

I think this of performance issue as Customer inform when he post it hung for long time the the client close ax.

Hi Khalid,

Indeed closing AX might have caused this issue. I did not understand before it was the first incident. You can run the number sequence 'manual cleanup' job to have this number free to be re-used next time. As it is related to a voucher, don't delete the number from the list.

Many thanks for you for flow with us in this case.

I don't need to reuse it ,why ? because the Sequences already pass and the date also, for that the best will not use it again, how to ensure that will not reuse it again? delete or cleanup? and if you help me to know the reason of problem
