Bringing Line Item Description to the Distribution Reference in GL

I saw a similar post here:

https://community.dynamics.com/gp/f/32/p/6412/8779.aspx#8779 which had a great idea for using a header field for each line item.

My client wants to bring each description from each line to the GL distribution reference (they are non-inventory items). But sometimes they post to the same GL account on a PO Receipt. So if we map using customization from the line item description, we will end up with two line items and two description, but only one distribution reference to put it on (they are summarized on the distribution reference). We thought about adding the first with an astericks or another character to indicate there are more. Any other ideas?
