Unable to install CRM 2013 Outlook Client

I'm unable to install the CRM 2013 Outlook Client. It failed to install and is now rerunning the installation assumes it's an upgrade. Can someone decipher the setup log and offer some guidance?

    Hello,

    Did you have a CRM for outlook Client 2011 installed on the same box before. I have seen this happening before, what I did was ran this program support.microsoft.com/.../Program_Install_and_Uninstall to uninstall the old version i.e. CRM for Outlook 2011. Delete the files and folders associated with CRM 2011 and also deleted the Registry keys.

    Steps :-

    Delete MSCRM folder from C:\Users\Your username\AppData\local\Microsoft\MSCRM

    Perform similar step for C:\Users\Your username\AppData\local\Microsoft\MSCRM and delete MSCRM folder if it exist.

    Go to Run, type in regedit and delete the EXE files.

    Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER>>Software>>Microsoft>>MSCRM. Delete all MSRM folder.

    Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>>Software>>Microsoft>>MSCRM. Delete all MSRM folder.

    Click on HKEY_USER>>Software>>Microsoft>>MSCRM. Delete all MSRM folder.

    Once you are done with this, then go ahead with the fresh installation for CRM for Outlook 2013.

    Hi There,

    I have the same problem described above , I have followed the steps you have mentioned above and I am still getting the same problem , the main thing is that the installer still identifies CRM 2011 is installed and goes for the "Upgrade" option. any help would be much appreciated.

    I have the same problem with MSCR2013 client.

    I followed the instruction and deleted the MSCRM folder from C:\Users\Your username\AppData\local\Microsoft\MSCRM and the entry at the registry.

    But when I tried to delete the folder '"Microsoft Dynamic CRM' in the program folder C:\Program Files (x86) as well but it prompted error that "The action can't be completed because the folder in it is open in another program''.

    I don't know which program is using it since restart my pc without open any program.

    I then rename the folder but still cannot install the CRM 2013 client.

    I tried to install MSCRM2011, it also cannot be installed. Now both 2011 and 2013 client cannot be installed.

    support.microsoft.com/.../Program_Install_and_Uninstall fixed it for me.

    was having a problem trying to install the CRM 2013 outlook client.  

    kept getting this error:  

    Info| Installation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook failed. Exit code: 1651. Result: Windows Installer does not permit updating of managed advertised products. At least one feature of the product must be installed before applying the update.

    ran that fix it program,  it saw CRM client,  fixed the problem and i was able to install just fine.

    after diving deeper into it,  this is what the program did:

    1. Deleted all keys under: HKCR:\Installer\Products\02D425C090400600A8E9C0C494E0E445

    2. Deleted all files under c:\windows\temp\MSCRM_* (multipule directories)

    after that was done,  i was able to run the installer just fine from there.

    so what this did is clean up from multiple failed installs.
