Hi,

I am looking for a way to send notification to a purchase person.

Here is conditions:
- When a sales person creates Sales Order, he/she doesn't check inventories. But a purchase person does.
- The purchase person creates Purchase Order corresponding to the Sales Order.
- A purchase person doesn't know when Sales Order is created with no inventories.
- Sales persons and Purchase persons are different.

I want to know if a purchase person can know the timing when he/she has to create a purchase order in Business Central.
Is there a way for a purchase person to know whether a puchase person has to create a Purchase Order because of Sales Order with lack of item stock?

Thank you.

as suggests by the experts, planning worksheet is the solution. If you don't have premium license, I guess it should be requisition worksheet for the same feature.
the tricky thing is this requires some planning and complexity to set up and test.

a simpler feature is Planning function inside a sales order, but those are not recommended to use with planning mentioned above. Simultaneous use of different planning tools may confuse BC.

    Thank you Shauna and Ben!
I tried to check the answer check box, but the system kept loading and I couldn't select them as answers. It seems something wrong on system.

I will use Requisition worksheet daily/weekly/monthly.

Shauna is spot on.  The only thing I would suggest is to start with using the Planning Worksheet.  This helps future proof your process.  The Planning Worksheet has a stronger calculation engine for more complex setups.  Even if your setups are simple (buy/sell), by starting with the Planning Worksheet you allow room for growth without changing your starting point.

For example, where you need two levels of personnel to create the Purchase Order.  The Planning Worksheet can make the initial suggestion, and the results can be pushed to the Requisition Worksheet for a second purchaser to Carry Out the creation of the Purchase Order.  While you may never grow into this requirement, the setups and process flow for the Planning Worksheet are the same as the Requisition Worksheet, so you aren't complicating anything by using the stronger tool.

    Hi,

To me this would be a business process where you could introduce the requisition worksheet.  This allows the purchasing department to determine the stock to order based on demand from sales orders or the planning parameters that are sent on the item card.  Multiple demand for the items can be grouped together and a purchase order can be automatically created from the replenishment worksheet.  We have customers that run this process daily/weekly/monthly so they can check inventory levels.

Try this training path to see if this will give you what you need.

    Hope that helps,
    Shauna
