Mileage rate for own car - resetting the rate per tax year

In D365, for the UK, how will the mileage quantity used by the employee reset to zero per tax year rather than 1/01/2021 - 31/12/2021? This is so they don't get charged low rate for new tax year if they have crossed the high rate mark in the previous tax year.

Do you need to have the start date set to 6/04/2021 for it to change after 12 months?

Many thanks

    Hi Mamta,

You are correct - at this moment the Mileage accumulation is resetted on calendar year, not on the fiscal calendar. This issue has been reported to Microsoft and the design has been changed and will be released in 10.0.25 version.

    Hi,

This feature has been released but the documentation online is not very clear. Do we just go into the category setup and select the start date as the fiscal year or the tax year? Will it automatically remember to reset 12 months after that date? When I go to test it, it just opens up the calendar with today's date selected, which funnily enough is the tax year end in the UK. We want to reset it to start from 6/04/2022. So shall I just put the start date and D365 will automatically reset every year at this time?

It is currently setup at the calendar year as per previous version.

    Many thanks

    Mamta

This is interesting, I've been asking myself this same question in a 10.0.24 system.  I'm glad there is an improvement in 10.0.25, but what if the fiscal year doesn't match the tax year?

Hi Peter, we are in the same situation where fiscal year starts a month after tax year. We just feel it will be less adjustments to do for AP team compared to when the mileage reset itself on the 1st Jan every year.
