Using WAX/TRAX in one Company and "old" Logistic in another one

Hello,

When we did the initial Setup for AX we created all our Companys include the Company which will be activated later during the Rollout Phase. So all of our Companys had the same Partition ID in the System.

Now we are in the Situation for one Rollout that we would like to use the new WAX/TRAX Modules. Is it possible to use it for our Russia Company and leave all the other companies using the "old" Logistics Module even if they have the same Partition ID? And if not did anyone know what we have to do (Creating a new Company in AX with it's own Partition ID? or is it possible to change the Partition ID for the existing Russian company - we didn't do any Setup Work at the moment, only the Company was created)

Hope someone can help us!

License configuration does not allow you to have both WHS and WMS2 to be turned on, since they have conflicting functionality. With considerable amount of customization it is possible to make them compatible, we did that at my previous workplace.

If you use partitioning, that could isolate data, but as per this MSDN article:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../jj728665.aspx

"License keys and configuration keys are shared across the system."

As per my understanding, this makes you attempt to use partitions to solve this problem will not have the desired results, since License configurations are shared. You would need a separate installation for this which has considerable license / hardware cost.

Or you could try to go down the implementation route as mentioned, to see what exact business processes do you have which conflict between WHS/WMS. We for example had to use combination of items, license plates and pallets, which could not be done. We had to break the limitation of enabling the Pallets in WAX-enabled inventory dimensions, and change a couple of inventory tracking/posting logic.
