Change PO after released

Good Morning,

Running Version 10 Dynamics GP.  We have a fully received PO which we would like to add to. Is there anyway around this instead of just creating a new PO.  We tried to change order but it doesn't do anything.

All the best

Kelnic

    Hi Kelnic,

I think this goes against the logic behind the PO module... The user guide explains it well : A purchase order is assigned this status (Closed) when all of the line items for the purchase order have been closed or canceled. A line item with a Closed status can’t be reopened or change its status to Canceled.

    Good Morning,

The status is received not closed at this point.  When they try to change it it states this line can't be changed to released or change order.  It is not making a whole lot of sense at this point

Do you use another module like POE (Purchase Order Enhancement) ? this could make explain the lock on a fully received PO since there are commitments to budgets.

Is the status closed on the entire PO or just on the lines? Is the PO committed to a sales order? If all you do is use PO's to generate payables documents or increase inventory you could unrelease the PO using SQL. If your PO's are integrated with other modules then changing the status is not a good idea.

    Hi All,

Appreciate the reply's.  I think that you both may be correct that they are linked with another module and this is what is going on as this would make sense.

I am going to enter a new PO and then just add the line items to the new PO as this should work.

    Thanks again
