Hi,
We are having an issue where persons are posting directly to some control accounts. These control accounts should only be posted to via the subledgers. These accounts are already set from the sales subledger as a posting account, however some persons go in to the General Ledger and post to these accounts as well. We want to restrict anyone from being able to directly select and post to these particular accounts.
Is this possible?

What Rubel has stated is correct. Other options are account level security, if these users should not be posting to these accounts at all. Or create a business alert to warn you someone has posted to the account, and then you could reverse it and either educate or discipline the party/parties involved.
Check off the allow account entry check box in account maintenance window
This way account cannot be manually entered or selected. Posting occurs for the account only if it is set up as an automatic or default posting account. However, a distribution cannot be changed or added to post to this account.
