Converting Modified Forms and VBA code to Dexterity?

I have some modified forms and VBA code that I need to convert to Dexterity before we start our move to GP 2013 and the web client but I'm not sure the best way to start.

Do I leave the modified forms as is and just write triggers and Dexterity code to replace the VBA code?

Or do I make the modifications to the forms in Dexterity and then make sure they get added to my chunk file as alternate forms?  I'm guessing I don't want to add any code to the form but then write triggers for the events I need to convert.

I'm leaning toward the second one but I'm also looking for some feedback from those who have already done this.

    Better you can export the Modified Forms with VBA code and import the package in GP 2013.

    For exporting Modified Forms with VBA code, open Tools-->Customise--> Customazation Maintenance and choose desired form with vba and click export button to save package. Follow similler steps to import the package in GP 2013.

    Bernie, I'm not really into Dex, but I'd suggest making all your changes in Dexterity as this will simplify maintenance going forward as they would then all be in one place.

    My understanding was that the web client does not support VBA and that any VBA customizations would have to be converted to Dexterity.  Currently we run 50+ users off of terminal servers as remote applications.  For the most part this works great but there are issues with drag/drop and outlook.  So there is a big push to get to the web client.

    I agree with moving it all to Dexterity.  I've done quite a bit in Dexterity and have converted a lot of the easy VBA.  I just starting to look at the VBA code that is attached to modified forms.  I try in all my customizations to not touch the native windows but these were customizations made before I moved to the Dynamics IT group.  I think I am going to create the modified forms in Dexterity and then write triggers for the VBA events and while I'm looking at the code try to move any modifications of the forms off to a custom form.

    Yes. Modified form with VBA is suport only desktop client not web client. For desktop client follow the my first one.

    For web client, Using Visual studio to convert the Modified forms with VBA code, for more details follow the below community forum.

    I already have a large customization effort in Dexterity and I think I will keep most of my code there.  I have done some work in VS Tools but it has mostly been to interface with other business systems through BizTalk and web services.  Originally GP 2013 was not going to support VS Tools windows but I think that changed in the last SP.  Thanks for the link, I'm always looking for examples/info.
