I have tried the Mapping field but the problem is that the Billing and Shipping address field on the quote are composite field , and could not find how to inject in those composite address the customer accountadress .

I would like to do that to simply save time in edtition if address is the same

IMPORTANT :
I should be able to correct after wards those addresses from the Quote without affecting Customer address.

    Hi Sergec,

You can get these data in form onload (SOAP call) and map with billing and shiping address.

    Hi Sergec,

The Mapping will work only if you Create the Quote from Subgrid or Associated View from the Parent Account.

Not, if you create Quote, then you fill the Potential Customer, it will not auto-mapping from Lookup field to All related fields, such as Address Fields.

    How you create the Quote?

But, if you use that way, then you can have another workaround to lookup address by Potential Customer.

There is a 'Lookup Address' ribbon in the Quote and Quote Product

Which will auto populate all of the address after you choose which Address.

    Lookupaddressquote2.png

    Lookupaddressquote3.png

But, to make the address is selectable, you need to input Address Name field in each Address, Address without Address Name will not be available to select. Because it is mandatory criteria when you lookup the Address View, it will find addresses with Name.

You can see, my name is Testing.

And this is the result after Lookup Address manually

I hope this can help you to clarify.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I am creating a quote from the Opportunity view so the path is :

I create an opportunity, then add product, generate the quote.

So how should I do then in order that when quote is created, the Potential customer account address define in opportunity will fill up my default address in quote ?

For the, binding the composite field are not visible, so does that means that binding each individual address field will automatically bind the composite address ?

    thanks for help

    Hi Sergec,

As I know the Opportunity does not have Address fields, so you cannot map from Account to Opportunity to Quote

So how should I do then in order that when quote is created, the Potential customer account address define in opportunity will fill up my default address in quote ?

--> You need to use either workflow, Plugin, or JavaScript to auto-fill the Addresses field.

And yes, you need to auto fill all individual fields first then it will bind and build its own composite field value.

--> Or you can let the users to manually key in the Lookup Address.

--> The purpose here is because an Account can have more than 1 Address, which the Quote address can be different, can be HQ address, finance dept address, Purchasing Dept Order, etc so that CRM allows you manually choose from Customer Address.

--> Or you create custom fields from Opportunity Address then you do mapping to Quote, but from Potential Customer to Opportunity Address fields, you also need customization or you ask the users to Key in opportunity from Account subgrid in order to make sure mapping flow from Account to Opportunity to Quote are perfectly working.

    Hope this can help you!

    Thanks.

Hi Aileen, sorry to dredge up an old post, but I am having a similar problem.

I want all the addresses in my CRM to include the address name so that they can be searchable and used in the "Lookup address" button, but I can't figure out how to amend the composite address so that it also includes the address name field as the top field?

    Gez,

Customer Address in CRM eventhough is stored in same table, has 2 types basically, one is key in through Account/Contact and the rest through the Customer Address associated view.

So, yes, if you want to show in the "Lookup Address", you need to have Address Name, this is the required one.

Now you can go back to Account/Contact and then put the Address1:Name and Address2:Name into the fields and then you key in the Name for address number 1 and 2, for the rest, number 3 and so on you can go to customer address and key in the Name field.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Well, this post is at least two years old but CRM users who need to do this can perhaps benefit from what I was able to do.

Just had a new client request of auto populating the Ship To address in the quote.

We already know that the potential customer is an account and the data we want is in there. But attempting to update the composite address which is what the Ship To address is (ShipTo_composite)  we know that there is functionality to compile any data we type into the ship to fields.

What I did was to add the Ship to fields in a hidden section on the form.

Then I used a workflow to update the record based on if the potential customer field had data.  I made the workflow on demand.    Creating a new quote record I fill out the required fields and save. Then I run the workflow.    It takes about 20 seconds online but the Ship To address is auto filled correctly.   Ok this was on 2016 on prem and 2016 online with update 1.

So if you tried updating the Ship To field with the Address 1 composite value and it failed I think this method will help you.
