Can you transfer consignment stock in Dynamics without taking ownership of the stock first?

Hi Dynamics community, I am dealing with a customer that does a lot of agency sales - selling stock on behalf of other businesses. They, therefore, have consignment stock and they need to move this stock across different warehouses in their network based on demand that fluctuates, e.g.: if store A sells short of their stock they will send it to store B. In this case, my customer does not want to take ownership of the consignment stock until it is finally sold and they need the flexibility to be able to transfer it around under the ownership of their vendor. Is this possible in Dynamics? The current literature states that consignment stock cannot be transferred to another location until its ownership has been claimed by the company that wants to transfer it.

Hi Frement,

I'm afraid you can't transfer consignment stock without taking ownership of the stock first in Dynamics.

When you’re ready to consume or use the inventory, you take over the ownership of the inventory.
