Printing Error

ReportReport

Hello,

I am receiving the attached error when trying to print a report in CRM that exceeds 16 pages.

An-error-occurred-during-printing-0x8007F303.png

I have tried to print the report to multiple printers, including a printer directly plugged into the machine.

It will print if the report does not exceed 16 pages.

If I export the report to PDF I am able to print the report, however the printing functionality should work and the extra steps should not have to be taken.

Has anyone ran into this error before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Does it work if you print directly from SSRS?

    Hello Wayne,

I have just succesfully printed the report in Visual Studio.

Yes, but if you navigate to SSRS's website directly and print from there, does it succeed?

I can give it a try, could you please direct me to how I would get to the SSRS website?

Actually, I guess I should ask if this is online on on-premises.  If Online, you can ignore my suggestions, as you can't access SSRS directly.  If on-prem, then reach out to the team that deployed CRM to get the SSRS URL.

Essentially, my thought was to narrow this down to a CRM issue or an SSRS one (or possibly an ActiveX control issue if it worked in VS but not a web browser).  Actually, if you haven't tried printing from Firefox or Chrome, try that as well.

    Hi Wayne,

    Thank you for your reply.

    This is on-premises.

I am unable to print from firefox or chrome, the print button does not appear in these browsers.

I do have access to all the servers, if you could give me some direction I am sure I can find the SSRS URL.

    Thank you,

I would recommend removing the Printer ActiveX Control from Internet Explorer.  It might be corrupted, and IE will re-download it next time you try to print.   IE -> Tools -> InternetOption -> Settings -> View Objects -> Remove RS Client Print

Also clear your browser cache, restart IE after all that and try again.

As for the SSRS URL, I have no idea.  That said, what server are you connecting in VS to turn that report?  I assume that is the SSRS server. If not, only your internal IT team could tell you.

    Hi Wayne,

I have taken the steps and the error still occured.

I will try printing from SSRS.

Have you been able to print a report that has been over 19 pages?

I've never tried.  I only ever export to PDF, but it's not something that should be an issue.

This error is occuring when any report is over 15 pages.

I have opened a case with Microsoft regarding the issue.
