General Ledger > Trial Balance > Opening Balance is showing "0"

Hi All,

The issue is that the Opening Balance under General Ledger > Trial Balance is showing for "0" for all companies.

I have cross checked the closing transactions for the Year 2016 & 2017 and they all has been created.

I also noticed that the job (RebuildBalances) has been stopped since Nov24,2017. SO even I ran it still the issue persists( Opening Balance is not showing any thing other than "0").

I have even consulted a functional guy who has suggested me to RESET the "Opening Transaction" once again.

Even after Reset no changes still the OpeningBalances are "0".

Don't no how to proceed further?.

Please suggest any other alternative to fix this ?

Hi axMani,

In the Parameters tab for the Trial Balance, there are separate Parameters for showing the opening balances. Have you made use of them?

Hi Ludwig,

Yes I have with all of them. But still the issue Persists

Is there any class or something that needs to be debugged to find out the root cause ?

Hello axMani,

In some older AX2012 there was an issue with the opening Balance column and values illustrated there.

Have you already checked LCS for available hotfixes?

No Ludwig not yet . Do you want me to check out there for any hotfixes?.

Is that the only solution . I m just asking is there any thing else that I might missed out that needs to checked out?.

Also I tell you that as to fix it temperarly ,restart of the service and the opening balances are showing correctly.

Hi Ludwig,

One more question do I need to schedule that Batch Job (RebuildBalances) to run on daily basis?

Also I m going to look at the hotfix you have suggested and thanks for sharing that Luwig.

But Please I request you to answer me the for the question I have asked.Batch Job (RebuildBalances) to run on daily basis?

Hi axMani,

You do not have to rebuild balances on a daily basis. This should not be responsible for the outcome that you see.

Thanks for the response Ludwig. Shortly m gonna send you a job I found on net to clear ledger dimension set cache .

Please let me know if that could resolve the issue.

If not m gonna end with the hotfixes you have suggested.

Try following:

1. Delete the dimension set for main account

2. Remove the chart of account structure from ledger

3. Add back chart of account structure.

4. Create again dimension set for main account

5. Rebuild balance

Please do it in TEST .
