Hi All,

I a wanting to add a template with existing styles and formats in to D365.  At the moment it seems I have to start this process from D365.

Is there anyway to take an existing word template and add the relevant tags from D365?

Thanks

Mark

    Hi Mark,

If you would add some fields on the existing word template, we have to download the template first.

So we will need to use "Document Template Manager" tool of XrmToolBox.

This is the download page of XrmToolBox: https://www.xrmtoolbox.com/

After downloading and decompressing it, open XrmToolBox.exe.

Install Document Template Manager in the tool library.

Use your account to connect to the D365 organization.

Open the "Document Template Manager" tool.

Select the template and download it.

Then edit the word according to the steps in this link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/using-word-templates-dynamics-365#step-2-enable-the-developer-tab

Unfortunately we have about 30 documents all with a detailed style guide:..  Margins, Paragraph setting, Heading, Front Page, Table of Contents and more.

I am looking to be able to use an existing document with all those style elements in them.

    RE: Importing word templates

    Hi Mark,

    Sorry for the late reply.

First, download the existing template according to my answer above.

Next, if we want to create a new template, we must select the entity and relationships from D365, and then download it to the local.

Finally, copy the word style from the existing template to the new blank template.

To implement a new blank template downloaded from D365 with its own style, unfortunately this is not possible.
