Unable to add the line item Site ID to print on PO Lines in Report Writer

Our customer wants the Site ID to print out for each line item on their PO.  I went into the report writer to add the field, but the field was unavailable.  Does anyone know how I can make this happen?  (The customer does not want to use Word Forms.)

    Hi,
The relationship between the Purchase Order Line table and the Purchase Order Line Rollup Temp table has to be created. It does not currently exist in Report Writer, that's why it doesn't appear when you click the New button. To create the relationship, open RW and select the Tables button and then 'Tables' from the button-drop menu. Select the popPOLineRollupTemp table as the primary table. Select the Relationships button on the Table Definition window. The Table Relationship window will open. Select the New button to open the Table Relationship Definition window. Select Purchase Order Line as the Secondary Table. Select POP_POLineIdxID as the Secondary Table Key. Select the Primary Table key fields to match the Secondary key fields. The Relationship Type field below the scrolling window will read One Record. Select OK and close all of the windows you opened to create the relationship. Now, with the relationship created, open the Report Definition window for the Purchase Order report and then click the Tables button. Select the Purchase Order Line Rollup Temp table and click the New button. Select the Purchase Order Line table that will now appear on the Related Table window. Drag the Location Code field out of the PO Line table and put it in the H3 section of the report. Be sure to change your security such that you are printing the modified report and you should be good to go!

Your tables window for the PO Report will look like this:

    Hi Leslie -

Thanks so much for the update.

I am attempting to add the PO Line table as a one-to-one relationship with the PO Line Temp as you have suggested and I am afraid I am missing something.  In the Report Table Relationships window and I am selecting the PO Line Temp line and clicking NEW as per instructions I have read.  The PO Line table does not show up to be added.  The only two tables that show up as available to be added are the Item Master and the Purchasing Receipt Line Quantities.

    Am I missing something simple?

    I really appreciate your guidance!

    Karen,

I just modified my PO with Report Writer and got the Location Code to print on the line where the item number exists (in H3). I'm using the Blank form. I modified the tables to include the Purchase Order Line as a one-to-one relationship with the Purchase Order Line Temp. You most likely will have to create this relationship in Report Writer. The Location Code printed on the PO line, just as I think you want. How did you add the Purchase Order Line table to your report? Which table did you relate it to? Which key did you use for the relationship?

If you want to send me a package file of your report, I'll be happy to look at it. My email is leslievail@earthlink.net

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Create a VBA customization to get the location code from the table Purchase Order Line (POP_POLine)  to your report layout.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Hi  Henkelman,

As SOMA mentioned, Please use custom Report Writer to retrieve Site ID to your standard\custom report.

The Purchase Order Line field results in the entire report becoming blank.  Creating a global function involves development, which isn't an option at this point, unfortunately.  Are there any other solutions using existing tables?

Use the table Purchase Order Line (POP_POLine) to add the location code (site ID) to your POP report. By default this table is not available in the Purchase Order Report. Use table relationship to add this table to POP report.

    Or

Create a global function start with the name "RW_" and get the location code from the table Purchase Order Line (POP_POLine) then return the value to the function. Then create a calculated field in POP report with using the function which you have created above and use this field to your report layout.

    Hope this helps!!!
