GP 2015 Deployment Options

Hello,

I am looking into various options for deploying GP 2015 hosted on Azure.

1) Standard Azure deployment: provisioning VM's for AD, RDS farm, and SQL to host GP and deliver to end users via RemoteApp (RDS).

2) RemoteApp Azure connected to AD and SQL servers also hosted in Azure.

Does anyone have experience with either of these deployments for GP 2015 specifically? The end users require both the fat client and the web client, as well as Management Reporter, Integration Manager, etc.

I feel that the Azure RemoteApp offering is not mature enough yet to host the full GP 2015 suite, so am leaning towards option 1, which would offer more flexibility.

If anyone knows whether GP 2015 has been tested/verified to work with Azure RemoteApp offering specifically, let me know.

Any other helpful tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    We are on Azure and we have also done option #1. Azure RemoteApp is not mature yet, as you rightly pointed out.

    We tried out RemoteApp, but it has got no flexibility yet. For instance, if you have customizations/modifications that require frequent updates on your GP application, then option #2 would be a pain.

    From my experience, once you create GP RemoteApp, you won't be able to modify it. We have no clear instructions yet on how to avoid the above. Available documentations are also unclear.

    I am constantly exploring RemoteApp functionality. The moment it becomes easy for us, I would take it.

    Thanks ... that was my suspicion. Would you mind sharing the number of GP users in your hosted deployment and the sizes of Azure machines that you're using (for SQL, and RDS session hosts and other roles)?
